From time to time we have employment vacancies here at Drumlanrig, both permanent and seasonal.
Drumlanrig Castle is a 5 star VisitScotland attraction offering a host of facilities for visitors, including Castle tours, beautiful gardens, craft studios, bicycle museum, adventure playground, tearoom and snackbar with excellent opportunities for walking, cycling and mountain biking.
2012 Season
March to September
We are looking for professional and motivated individuals to represent one of Dumfries & Galloway’s finest tourist destinations during the 2012 season.
Castle Guides:
You must be enthusiastic, with a keen interest in Scottish history and ideally a good understanding of art. You must have exceptional standards of customer service and communication skills and an ability to talk to groups of all ages. You will conduct Castle tours and assist in the day to day operations of this unique tourist attraction.
Kiosk Assistants:
Kiosk Assistants have an important role as they have to ensure that all visitors receive a warm welcome to Drumlanrig and are given the information they need to enjoy their visit. You need excellent customer service standards, cash handling experience and a willingness to be flexible.
Temporary Ranger
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work with our busy Ranger Service delivering educational activities to a wide range of audiences. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of ecology, wildlife, land-use and the countryside with the ability to communicate this to all ages. Good practical skills are desirable.
Catering: Front of House Staff
With high standards of customer care you will provide a welcoming and professional service to visitors to the Castle Tearoom and Snackbar. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience, work well in a team and have a flexible attitude.
For all of the above positions a second language is desirable but not essential.
