11 am - 4 pm
Drumlanrig Castle has long been associated with the 'winged heart'. Discover why at our 'Douglas Heart' themed event.
Transport yourself to a bygone era and listen to stories about how life at Drumlanrig was in the early 14th Century.
Hear Sean Barbour tell ghostly stories from the Border Reiver days when raiders caused havoc on both sides of the Anglo-Scottish border. These will start at 12 noon and will last approximately 10 minutes and will run every half hour.
Also, at this event a long standing debate will finally be settled. Was the Scottish velocipede, invented by Kirkpatrick Macmillan faster than Pierre Michaux's French velocipede? Due to an unforeseen wormhole in the space-time continuum, both men will meet at last in a contest on the drive of Drumlanrig Castle and settle the question once and for all. Races will take place at 1 pm and 3 pm. Don't miss it!
Other activities on offer are:
