Free Family Fishing Day
Saturday 7 August 2010
10 am - 12 noon and 1 pm - 3 pm
Venue: River Esk at Langholm
Have you ever wanted to have a go at fishing but not known how to start? Would you like to give your children the chance to fish on a safe riverbank under the guidance of qualified instructors? Or are you just looking for something new and exciting to do with them during the school holidays?
Well, now is your chance to give it a go and all for free!
As part of the Fishing for Knowledge project, Solway Heritage is co-ordinating a Family Fishing Day to allow adults and children to have a go at fishing. Everyone will have the chance to try their hand at river dipping to see what lives in the river, practise casting with rods on the river bank and finally try some fishing.
The day will be held in Langholm on the River Esk on Saturday 7th August with sessions running in the morning and afternoon with Borderlines instructors and support from Buccleuch Sporting. Access to the river is by kind permission of The Buccleuch Estates.
If you would like to book one of the fishing sessions or would like more information about the events, please contact Clair McFarlan or Catriona Fitzsimon at Solway Heritage on 01387 247543 or email bookings@solwayheritage.co.uk.
Please note that although the sessions are free, booking is essential.
