Drumlanrig Castle Fishings Open Week

Monday 2 April to Saturday 7 April 2012
Dawn to dusk

Drumlanrig Castle Fishings' River Manager is once again inviting anglers to try their hand at fishing our four excellent beats during this free fishing opportunity.

Fishing for Salmon and Sea Trout on the Nith

This is the second of two Open Weeks this year.   The first was at the end of February when over 155 good Grayling, Brown Trout, early Salmon and Sea Trout were caught and returned during this popular event (catch and release is encouraged).

The Drumlanrig Castle Fishings Beats have been carefully managed for generations as the private waters of Drumlanrig Castle, the magnificent 17th Century Dumfriesshire home of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry.

The Castle provides a fabulous backdrop to the powerful waters of the River Nith offering exclusive, first-class fishing opportunities.  The fresh waters of this impressive seven mile stretch of river (largely double bank fishing) broaden from a rocky gorge into a predominantly gravelled river bed encompassing 29 excellent named pools and reaches.

The Open Week is therefore an excellent opportunity not to be missed by the keen angler, both novice and experienced, wishing to try out these beautiful waters.

Booking is essential:   Contact the Sporting Office on 01848 600415, email sporting@buccleuch.com or Contact Us.

To book alternative fishing please contact us (as above) to discuss or book online through Fish Nith, finding Drumlanrig Fishings under Fishery Descriptions.
