We are thrilled to welcome the sensational Craig McMurdo and his Jazz Trio to Drumlanrig Castle for a glorious evening of Jazz and Swing.
London-based Craig has been thrilling audiences with his smooth style of jazz around the globe for over two decades, from humble beginnings on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to performing before huge audiences, paying tribute to the timeless musical styles & arrangements of the likes of George Shearing, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, Ella & Louis, Tony Bennett and even more modern counterparts such as Jack Johnson & Sting.
Although performing professionally before 1986 it was in November of that year that Craig formed his band and started recording, touring and appearing on television & radio world wide. Craig and his jazz trio are currently on tour with a brand new show (Moon, June, Croon, Swoon) taking a light hearted look at the romantic lyrics and tunes of the great American songbook in his inimitable tongue in cheek style.
Scotland’s answer to Michael Bublé, Craig is a renowned vocalist, recording artist and broadcaster and his career has seen him release six albums to date and perform privately for such luminaries as HRH Prince Charles, Sir Cameron Mackintosh, Paul Newman & Danielle Steele among others.
Craig has an extensive repertoire of swing and jazz standards and the evening - al fresco - with the magnificent Drumlanrig Castle as a backdrop, is sure to be to be one of great delight and enjoyment.
